CURCI
Curci is a seasoned hip hop artist who at age 19 has headlined and/or opened shows from San Fran to Miami to Colorado. A decade earlier, when this talented lyricist was just an 8-year-old kid in Colorado, he was determined to stop being just a listener and grow into a story teller. He’s a chronicler, narrator and poet.
Curci was raised around people inspired by music, like his father who today owns a music store and his mother, a singer. Before his first solo release in 2012, he’d been in and out of many hip-hop groups. Tired of the battling egos, he landed in Japan for some soul searching, where he indulged in the culture of precision among artists and openness to artists worldwide. “It showed me I can spread my message to anyone.” Soon after, he created his first mixtape.
By May 2012, “Curci In Wonderland” was released, a huge step that boosted his industry presence and propelled his hip-hop career. After the first mixtape, Curci created his own ‘league of extraordinary gentleman’ called “Conscious Minds For Righteous Revolution,” talented artists who aligned with Curci's conscious way of crafting music. His criteria: be a straight-up, professionally focused and distinct artist whose individuality separates them from standard artists – the same traits of those in the best-selling comic book series and movie League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
Curci's second mixtape, “Speakeasy,” was released in April 2013, featuring the 1920's Prohibition Era’s jazzy feel. Rapid success followed, leading to performance invites from San Francisco to Miami.
A year later, he launched his third mixtape, “Forever Summer,” described as one of the smoothest mixtapes around. “It’s my way of saying hip hop is definitely my job and I'm not leaving. It starts off with "Graduation," about almost dropping out of high school because I had to leave so often to play shows in other states.” NOTE: he didn’t drop out. ‘Forever Summer’ http://www.datpiff.com/Curci-Forever-Summer-mixtape.584800.html.
Outside of music, Curci’s a skateboarding and comic book aficionado always on the lookout for sneakers to add to his growing collection.
